Keep Stacking Days Because Reps Remove Doubt
New Mantras Heading Into 2025
Every year, before we flip the calendar, I sit down and do an annual review on myself. Actually, I do it quarterly, I don’t know why I lied just now….
In any case, this review spans several pages, encompassing many thoughts that will never see the light of day. One section of this review incorporates a short list of mantras that I want to live by for the following year. I use followup.cc to ensure these mantras hit my inbox every morning (certain ones every day).
These were largely the same from 2024 to 2025 but I wanted to share the “net new” ones here (both can be heard in the below interview with Chris Paul).
Stacking Days
TLDR - For those of us who want to see positive change, the punchline here is that it takes lots and lots and lots of time. Given there are no shortcuts, all we can do is set out each day with a goal of getting 1% better. If you’re able to stack day after day after day of work, growth will begin to compound and only then will you notice the change you are seeking. Just keep stacking days!
Reps Remove Doubt
TLDR - I love this mantra as well. Where does confidence come from? It comes from preparation. It comes from putting in lots and lots and lots of reps. Reps remove doubt!
Chris Paul is not sharing anything groundbreaking in this video. This is one of those conclusions that we can safely say is reached by 99% of athletes / professionals (in particular those who have stuck with a long-term goal for several years). Tom Brady says “keep going.” Kobe Bryant looks himself in the mirror at the end of every day and asks himself “did I get better today.” The list goes on.
It’s not rocket science but these constant reminders are so important when chasing long term goals where the change might not be instantly visible (which it rarely is).
In 2025. The goal is to keep stacking days, because reps remove doubt!
